Carrie Short
Undergraduate:
Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics at UNC-Chapel Hill
BIO
For 20 years, Carrie has been face-to-face helping students with a wide range of unique learning challenges to become successful and confident math students.
When the instruction in the traditional classroom alone wasn’t enough for a student, she was very often the educator called in to help those students succeed by explaining the math in a way that was easy for everyone to understand.
She has taught and tutored at the middle and high school level over 20 years in a range of environments.
She is a licensed teacher in the state of North Carolina who currently teaches in Western NC. Carrie has received consistent praise from students, teachers, and administrators for her unique abilities to inspire the desire to learn, to lose the “dread” of math, and to achieve in both life and school.
Carrie connects with her students at their level and gives them a mentor they can grow with and trust. Carrie gets students to overcome their challenges with math, regain confidence, and become better students as a whole. The result: better grades, better organization, better home life and self esteem.
